Continuing
Education Credits for Health Educators
New,
for 2003, The American Evaluation
Association (AEA) is a designated provider of Continuing Education
Contact Hours (CECH) by the National
Commission for Health Education Credentialing. Our annual
conference directly addresses one of the seven Certified Health
Education Specialist (CHES) areas of
responsibility: “Evaluating the effectiveness of health education
programs.” We welcome Health Educators seeking professional
development that will improve their evaluation knowledge and skills.

CECH
are available at no additional charge, beyond registration fees, to CHES
who are attending the conference. In order to receive credits you must:

a)
Be a Certified Health Education Specialist, |
|
b)
pre-register
for the conference, and |
|
c)
notify AEA of your desire to receive CECH for your attendance prior

to notify us that you will be a CHES attendee. |
How
many CECH can you earn? Up to 43.5 if you attend the entire week. There
are two components to the conference and this may be confusing for first
time attendees. Professional Development Workshops precede and follow
the conference on Monday, November 3, Tuesday, November 4, Wednesday
November 5 before 3:00 pm, and Sunday, November 9. The conference itself
takes place from 3:15 pm on Wednesday, November 5 to 5:00 pm on
Saturday, November 8. Here is the breakdown of CECH that may be earned:
Professional Development Workshops

here. All workshops are eligible for CECH credit. You do not have to
attend the conference in order to register for a workshop - you may
register for just workshops if you prefer.

Two-day
workshops, on Monday, November 3 and Tuesday, November 4 are worth
12 CECH each. |

One-day
workshops, on Tuesday, November 4, or Wednesday, November 5 are
worth 6 CECH each. |
|
Half-day
workshops, on Wednesday, November 5, or Sunday, November 9, are
worth 3 CECH each. |
